Been a while since I blogged. Lots to talk about, just not much being said! Hopefully I will come up with some interesting storied to tell soon.
These are my stories for the day...
I went to New Orleans to the Dr today. I am always looking for something in nature to entertain me wherever I go. Saw an eagle in it's nest as was driving along. It was in a tree out in the water. Was so wishing I had my camera and was actually able to stop and take a pic. One would never know in a picture that the interstate full of cars was so close by. The eagle didn't seem to mind the roaring traffic at all.
I was sitting in the Dr's office, waiting to see if they were going to actually see me since I was only 30 minutes late. (Another story-Got a little confused about the time!)A nurse caught my eye as she came out the door to speak to an elderly lady a few seats from me. She was telling the lady that she had come on the wrong day and that the bus was going to come back and pick her up. The lady was of a small frail nature and I could tell that she was getting more and more confused as the nurse spoke. Soon she began to cry. I could see the compassion in the nurses eyes and she continued to speak to her. The nurse decided to go ahead and take her to the back to be seen, without waiting to see if the Dr approved. It reminded me of my poor grandmother with Dementia.
Later, I saw the lady sitting on a bench next to the elevator, looking so confused. I started to ask her if she needed some help but was afraid that I would confuse her more or that someone was coming to get her and she might wander away if I disturbed her.
I am so glad that my grandmother has had someone to take care of her in her ordeal with Dementia. It is such a confusing time in a person's life and such a hard thing to watch happening to your loved one.
I can only hope that if I ever get in that shape there will be someone to watch after me.
